Cherry Pie

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 200ºC. Line a pie dish with 1 sheet of pie crust.  Brush with egg wash. Keep chilled while making the filling.
  2. Mix together cherries, cornflour, sugar and vanilla until well coated.
  3. Using a slotted spoon add the filling into the pie crust.
  4. Cut out the word CHERRY about 6 times or so from the second sheet of pie crust using alphabet cutters.
  5. Place letters around the pie to spell cherry in a spiral.  Repeat until covered.
  6. Brush pie crust with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature and cook for another 20 minutes until golden and cooked.

 

Apple Pie

  1. Pre-heat oven to 200ºC. Line a pie dish with 1 sheet of pie crust.  Brush with egg wash. Keep chilled while making the filling.
  2. Mix together apples, cinnamon, cornflour and brown sugar together.
  3. Using a slotted spoon add the filling into the pie crust.
  4. Brush the second pie crust with egg wash. Cut out a circle of parchment the same size as the edge of the top crust. Press the circle to adhere, as seen in the video. Gently press popsicle sticks in a pattern like the one in the video
  5. Mix together cinnamon sugar and sprinkle evenly over the pattern  Remove the popsicle sticks and the parchment circle. Give the plain crust another brush of egg wash.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature and cook for another 20 minutes until golden and cooked.

 

Black Tie PIe

  1. Preheat oven to 200ºC. Line a pie dish with 1 sheet of pie crust.  Brush with egg wash. Keep chilled while making the filling.
  2. Mix together blackberries, cornflour, sugar and lemon zest. Using a slotted spoon add the filling into the prepared pie crust.
  3. Roll out the second pie crust. Cut the crust into squares about 2”x1”.  Pinch the middle of each square to form a bow tie. Place the bow ties around the blackberries.
  4. Brush each with egg wash.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature and cook for another 20 minutes until golden and cooked.

 

Peach and Strawberry

  1. Preheat oven to 200ºC. Line a pie dish with 1 sheet of pie crust. Brush with egg wash. Keep chilled while making the filling.
  2. Mix together peaches, strawberries, corn flour and sugar.  Using a slotted spoon add the filling into the prepared pie crust.
  3. Cut the second pie crust into 1-2” strips. Brush the edge of the filled pie with egg wash.  Ribbon the strips of pie crust as seen on the video around the crust. Fill the centre with crumble topping.  Brush the crust with egg wash.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature and cook for another 20 minutes until golden and cooked.
