4 Way Savoury Swirl Buns

Spiral buns - what could be more aesthetically and gastronomically pleasing? Is there anything more joyful than the aroma of freshly baked dough wafting from the oven, mingling with the scents of the exotic spices of Mexico, the fragrant pesto of Italy, the rich tang of melting cheese, the irresistible aroma of lovely burgers?

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (400°F)
  2. Butter/grease/spray with nonstick spray the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and roll into a 12x18 inch even rectangle.

 
Croque Monsieur

  1. Spread béchamel evenly over dough. Layer with cheese without overlapping and top sliced ham.
  2. Roll tightly into a log.  Cut into 1” rounds and place in greased dish. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes. Bake in oven for 25-35 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy!

Chicken Pesto

  1. Mix pesto, chicken, and parmesan until combined.
  2. Lay mozzarella evenly over dough. Top with chicken pesto mix in a thin layer. Roll tightly into a log.  Cut into 1” rounds and place in greased dish. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes. Bake in oven for 25-35 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy!

Cheeseburger

  1. Mix cooked beef mince, salt, pepper, onion, and ketchup together until combined.
  2. Lay American cheese evenly over dough. Top with beef mixture. Roll tightly into a log.  Cut into 1” rounds and place in greased dish. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes. Bake in oven for 25-35 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy!

Fajita Chicken

  1. Mix together shredded chicken, peppers and onions, tomato sauce and fajita seasoning.
  2. Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly over dough. Top with fajita chicken mix. Roll tightly into a log.  Cut into 1” rounds and place in greased dish. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes. Bake in oven for 25-35 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy!
