If you needed another excuse to rinse the biscuit aisle, this is it.
Cadbury fans are currently tearing through packs of Fingers like it’s a competitive sport, all thanks to a promo that’s basically Willy Wonka for the Dairy Milk generation.
Hidden inside selected packs are rare “crossed” chocolate fingers – and if you find one, you could be sitting on a casual £20,000 payday.
Yes, really.
The whole thing is part of Cadbury’s “Fingers Crossed” campaign, which has quietly turned your standard tea break into a full-blown treasure hunt. Instead of just dunking and vibing, people are now inspecting every biscuit like it’s a lottery ticket.
And it kind of is.
The idea is simple: crack open a promo pack, pray to the snack gods, and if you spot the elusive crossed finger biscuit, you’re in the money. There are also loads of smaller cash prizes floating about, so it’s not totally main-character-or-bust.
Naturally, the internet has gone feral for it.
Shoppers are bulk-buying boxes, swapping tips, and fully convincing themselves the next pack is the one. It’s giving Big Tesco energy meets low-stakes heist movie.
Some even claimed to have eaten the 20k chocolate without realising. IMAGINE?!
"I’ve gotten so many of those and didn’t realise,’ admitted @_black_white_flower_ on X (Twitter).
Similarly, @emiliemainz commented: "Wait, you’re not supposed to eat them?!"
The promo is running across a bunch of different Fingers packs until summer, which means there’s still plenty of time to spiral financially in the name of “just one more pack”.
If you keep an eye out, hopefully you won't make the same mistake as those who ate their crossed Finger, as there's actually a winning ticket inside the box too, which will tell you what you need to do to bag the prize.
Plus, there's another way to win, too. On each box there's a QR code you can scan, and if you submit your details you could also be eligable to win a different prize instantly.
Look, will you win? Probably not. Will that stop you loading up on chocolate for the foreseeable? Also no.
