BBQ Onion Bombs

  • 400g beef mince
  • 50g breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 120ml milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • 1/2 white onion (diced)
  • 3 smallish onion
  • 12 rashers of bacon
  • 150ml bbq sauce
  • toothpicks


  1. Start by adding your mince, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, diced onion and parsley to a mixing bowl. Use your hand to combine the mix fully and then set aside.
  2. Grab yourself a chopping board, top and tail your onions, and peel off the outer skin. Using a sharp knife cut through to the middle of your onion and separate out the layers. Repeat with all onions.
  3. Grab the largest of the layer and stuff them with your mince mix. Then wrap in bacon and secure with toothpicks.
  4. Place on baking tray and brush generously with your bbq sauce.
  5. Bake at 180°C/350°C for 40 minutes.
  6. Serve with more bbq sauce for dipping. Delicious!
