Cheeseburger Poptarts

Cheeseburger Poptarts

What You’ll Need:

  • 500g beef mince
  • 2 tbsps ketchup
  • 1 Block of shortcrust pastry
  • Bacon Jam
  • Cheese slices
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • Gherkin slices, crinkle cut

How You Make It:

  1. Fry off your beef mince until browned, season with salt and pepper and squeeze in your ketchup. Remove from heat and leave to cool.
  2. Roll out your pastry to pound coin thickness on a well-floured surface, then cut into rectangles that are the same size as a pop tart.
  3. Spread a teaspoon of bacon jam across half of your rectangles. Spoon a tablespoon of mince on top and spread flat, leaving a little edge of pastry around the edge. Pop 3 gherkin slices down on top of the mince, then a cheeseslice (split in two).
  4. Egg wash the edges of the tarts, then lay another rectangle on top and crimp the edges with a fork. Brush the entire tart with more egg wash, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  5. Bake in an oven preheated to 200degs for 25 minutes, or until nicely browned and crisp.
  6. Destroy.
