Detoxes, or “cleanses”, are a highly popular healthy method of ridding your body of unwanted toxins. Celebrities like Gwenyth Paltrow and Anne Hathaway swear by their juice cleanses to aid in weight loss, eliminate excess waste and maintain healthy immune, digestive and lymphatic systems. Not only have these been tried and tested, they have also been scientifically backed by doctors such as Dr. Oz and Dr. Alejandro (who both encourage incorporating a detox into a healthy lifestyle at least once per month).
Many of the juice cleanses that we hear about include meal replacements that require you to entirely change your eating habits. However there is a new, simpler, and cheaper detox that is just as effective in beating that bloat. And guess what? It only includes three easy ingredients.
We have all experienced that heavy bloated feeling either before or after meals. It can be a real day-ruiner if your stomach is so full that, even after hours of not eating, you are still experiencing that uncomfortable fullness. The solution? Just one cup of a three-ingredient liquid flush containing apple-cider vinegar, organic honey and boiling water, taken every morning.
When I hear about people using vinegar, the first image that pops into my head is a big plate of fish and chips drenched in the stuff. So you can imagine my surprise when Dr Oz recommended vinegar as a morning drink. But what is so great about the stuff? Vinegar is highly acidic and contains enzymes that have been proven to help with the breakdown of starches, while simultaneously cleaning your colon.
Carol Johnston, the nutritional director at Arizona State University said: “It doesn’t block the starch 100%, but it definitely prevents at least some of that starch from being digested and raising your blood sugar.” A bloated stomach can be an indicator that your colon needs to be cleansed so incorporating this vinegar drink into your daily routine will help you to beat that bloat and leave you feeling energised because of its anti-glycemic properties.
On top of aiding the digestive system, vinegar is used as a way to get rid of unwanted mucus in your lymphatic system which is crucial for maintaining a healthy immune system. The honey in the drink is a naturally-occuring sweetener that also contains antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
So there you have it, a sure way to beat that bloat. Now you will no longer have to hide behind baggy jumpers and small portions. Hallelujah. Now that you have your morning drink what about the perfect breakfast? Here’s a delicious bacon avocado eggs that we made.
That looks unreal. It is time to ditch the cereal because that is all I’m going to be cooking up now.
