Directions

Sub

  • 240ml warm water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 400g bread flour

Meatballs

  • 4 slices (preferably stale) white bread, crusts removed
  • 500g beef mince
  • 500g pork mince
  • 1 ½ tbsp flaked sea salt
  • 1 ½ tbsp ground black pepper
  • 1 large egg + 1 large egg yolk
  • 6 cloves garlic, crushed to a paste

Marinara Sauce

  • 2 tbsp light olive oil
  • 1 brown onion, finely diced
  • 1 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 400g chopped tomatoes
  • 500ml tomato passata
  • 1 1/2 tbsp black pepper
