Ordering a McFlurry is a lot like getting dinner in a cashless restaurant - change is rarely welcome. While competitors in the fast-food game invariably like to shake up their dessert menu, McDonald’s are shockingly stoic when it comes to their sweets. Though the occasional newcomer might make its bow, the restaurant is loathe to stray too far from its formula. Therefore, any new McFlurry flavour should be treated less like a pudding, and more like a mythical creature - spotting one is seriously special.
For the first time in seven years, the chain has thrown caution to the wind and decided to introduce a brand new addition to the McFlurry seasonal lineup in the form of a snickerdoodle flavour. Made with a mixture of vanilla soft-serve, sugar cookie pieces and cinnamon, it sounds like fans everywhere will soon be asking why the hell it took seven years to release.
According to a report by Delish, rumours around the snickerdoodle have actually been swirling since the summer, when some California locations starting testing the product. Documented in a video by vlogger Ian K of “Peep This Out”, the treat earned overwhelming praise, setting the internet on edge for a wider rollout.

The snickerdoodle marks the first Christmas McFlurry flavour since the Holiday Mint McFlurry dropped way back in 2012. While other varieties, such as Rolo and Stroopwafel, have made the occasional appearance, a new permanent arrival is certainly going to get ice cream fans excited.
Despite the understandable excitement, there are a few complications to the snickerdoodle development. For starters, the ice cream is currently only available if ordered through Uber Eats. This arrangement will last through to the 17th of November, at which point the flavour is expected to be made available in McDonald’s stores. Obviously, this is not ideal for anyone who doesn’t enjoy McDonald’s delivery.
