Sloppy Joes were named so because, believe it or not, they are sloppy and were invented by someone called Joe. Another twist on our stable building blocks of minced beef and cheese, this sweet, meaty mixture goes extremely well in a big pile of crunchy nachos. A communal dish designed for sharing, this is the ideal way to bring you and your estranged family/friends together.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C/360°F.
- Fry the onion with the oil until soft, then add the garlic and cook for a further minute or so until fragrant.
- Add the beef and brown all over, then add the passata, ketchup and everything else. Bring to a simmer and cover and cook for around 20 minutes.
- Add a layer of nacho chips to a lined baking tray and top with some of the sloppy joe mix and cheese. Repeat with another layer, then cover and bake for 15 - 20 minutes.
