Sticky Glazed BBQ Drumsticks

  • 100g light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin, ground
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 kg/2.2lb chicken wings

For the sauce 

  • 200g ketchup
  • 100g light brown sugar
  • 100g cider vinegar
  • 1/2 orange, juiced
  • 1 garlic clove, finely diced
  • 1 tbsp butter

These baked wings are chicken heaven - falling off the bone meat covered in a sticky, tangy sweet glaze. A huge pile of these would make an ideal snack for a large party of pals.


  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C/340°F.
  2. Whisk together the ingredients for the dry rub and rub it all over the chicken.
  3. Place them evenly on an oven tray and bake for around 45 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, add all the ingredients for the BBQ sauce into a saucepan and bring it all up to a boil. Allow to bubble away for a few minutes until thickened.
  5. Take the chicken out of the oven and brush with the sauce then pop back in for a further 10 minutes.
  6. Enjoy!
