Let’s be honest, any dish whose essence is comprised of meat and cheese is going to be a winner. As for the crushed tortilla chips, well they’re just the icing on the… pie.

This Taco Pie might just be the easiest, cheesiest pie you’ve ever made and once you try this food legend, I guarantee you won’t want to eat tacos any other way. The tortilla chips provides the crunch any true taco needs and the fact it’s in a pie means we’ve finally found a way for you to enjoy tacos, without half of the ingredients ending up on your lap. Sorry taco shells, you are delicious but you’re not so well thought out.

What You’ll Need:

  • Shortcrust Pastry Pie Case
  • 400g Minced beef
  • Taco Seasoning
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • Tortilla Chips
  • Tomato Salsa
  • Diced fresh tomato
  • Sour Cream
  • 200g cheddar cheese, grated
  • Iceberg lettuce, shredded

How You Make It:

  1. Brown your beef mince in oil, add your diced onion, and, when translucent, chuck in your seasoning and stir to incorporate. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Layer your taco pie- put your beef mix in the base of your pastry case, top with crushed chips, then a drizzle of tomato salsa and finally your cheese.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes at 210degs, or until the cheese has melted and is starting to gather colour.
  4. Bring out, leave to cool slightly, then top with sour cream, fresh tomato and shredded lettuce.
  5. Slice and serve!
