Last night, after four intense weeks, we finally found out who won Celebrity Best Home Cook 2021.

This year’s series has been the perfect antidote to lockdown blues.

Each week, viewers enjoy a feast of delicious and occasionally terrible homecooked dishes. It’s no wonder that the show has won fans across the country.

Who won Celebrity Best Home Cook 2021?

As the competition came to a close, only one celeb could emerge victorious.

All the finalists had ranked at the top of the tree at some point during the show, suggesting that the competition was intense. Here’s who came out on top.

Ed Balls

The former politician and erstwhile Strictly star became the first Celebrity Best Home Cook winner after last night’s final. He shined after creating a sensational Thai-spiced squash curry and then a sensational picnic featuring rare lamb chops.

Speaking in the aftermath, Balls said that he is “dedicating the trophy to all the Mums & Dads who do their best & have a go in the kitchen.”

Now that the dust has settled, we know the nine celebrities that narrowly missed out on the trophy.

For anyone who’s missed out on the drama to date, here are the celebrities who didn’t make the cut.

Tom Read Wilson

The Celebs Go Dating receptionist has had several brushes with the exit door, coming close in both episode three and five. However, he shone in the semi-final and fell just short in an incredibly close final cookoff.

Rachel Johnson

The journalist, author and sister to the Prime Minister has impressed with an exceptional example of a roast dinner. However, she came unstuck in the final episode, struggling with both the squash challenge and croquembouche Eliminator.

Desiree Burch

The popular comic was the first to bite the dust, coming unstuck with the Swiss roll eliminator round challenge. However, she did impress earlier in the episode with her take on tacos.

Gareth Thomas

The former Welsh rugby captain looked a reasonably strong candidate after week one of the competition. However, Thomas soon came unstuck by his attempt at a pie.

Ruth Madeley

Actor Ruth Madeley managed to survive a tough eliminator round back in Episode One. Unfortunately, the Years and Years star was found wanting after her attempt at Schnitzel.

Karim Zeroual

The CBBC presenter and Strictly Come Dancing had already led a charmed life, having survived the eliminator in three out of the previous four episodes. Eventually, however, his luck ran out in episode five as he was one of two victims in a double elimination.

Ed Byrne

Comedian Ed Byrne had actually been a reasonably strong participant and was named as one of the judges favourites in episode two. Despite this, the judges had problems with his take on a Sunday roast.

Shobna Gulati

The 54-year-old actor was a consistent performer throughout the series, three times being marked out as one of the judges favourites. However, she had a narrow escape at the end of episode five, before finally falling short in episode six.

Ferne McCann

Despite a strong showing throughout the series, the TOWIE star struggled with Angela Hartnett’s tricky crab ravioli challenge. McCann narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth in this year’s competition.

When is the Celebrity Best Home Cook Final?

The final Celebrity Best Home Cook episode was broadcast last night (February 17th).
