Aldi is all set to spice up homes up and down the UK this Christmas, with its brand new super spicy pigs in blankets which contain the Trinidad Scorpion, also known as the world’s second hottest chilli.
Yep, courtesy of the budget supermarket, the classic Christmas side dish will be given a serious kick – perfect for those with a pallet for all things mouth-scorchingly spicy.
The Scorpion chilli has a heat rating of 1,463,700 on the Scoville scale, putting it in second place to the Carolina Reaper which is known to be the world’s hottest.

It has not been clarified whether the chilli is incorporated into the sausage meat or infused in a sauce.
The price of the spicy treats is also not yet known. Aldi has confirmed, however, that they will be available across the UK from November 28, with one 240g packet costing just £2.29.
If news of Aldi’s spicy pigs in blankets have whet your appetite, you’ll be pleased to know that the chain unveiled its Christmas menu in full this week – with plenty of mouthwatering items to look forward to.
