McDonald’s: Is the adult Happy Meal in the UK?

McDonald’s adult Happy Meals have been all the rage over in the States ever since the fast food giant announced their launch just days ago.

Offering customers their very own adult Happy Meal toy, as well as a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNugget box with fries, fruit and a drink, the new deal has amassed a lot of fanfare – and it’s all too clear why. 

We all love a bit of nostalgia, don’t we? And no matter how old we are, truth be told we all want a toy with our burger and chips.

Given the hype these adult Happy Meals have amassed, there’s no wonder people are asking whether they’ll be able to pick one up near them anytime soon.

Is the adult Happy Meal in the UK?

Bad news, UK dwellers, the adult Happy Meals are only being sold as a limited promotion over in America, in participating restaurants, drive-thrus and delivery spots.

This means there’s currently no way to get an adult Happy Meal in the UK. Sob.

We’ve reached out to Maccies to ask if they have any plans to launch anything similar over here, but seeing as this is a promotional collab with Cactus Flea Market, we think it’s unlikely.

Still, the global excitement can only be a good thing, right? McDonald’s bosses, if you’re listening, bring an adult Happy Meal over here, stat….

What’s Cactus Plant Flea Market?

The Happy Meals are being launched in collaboration with Cactus Plant Flea Market, which is a US streetwear brand.

Cactus Plant Flea Market is an artist owned brand that sells apparel items which regularly feature signature dyes and contemporary graphics.

But for the McDonald’s collab, they’re going in a different direction, designing adult Happy Meal toys.

The fun doesn’t stop there, either. McDonald’s customers will also be entered into a prize draw if they purchase a Happy Meal via the app. Winners will be awarded Cactus Plant Flea Market and McDonald’s collaboration clothing, like t-shirts and a Grimace chair (you can also buy the merch separately by visiting this website).

What are the adult Happy Meal toys?

The adult Happy Meal toys are all a take on Maccies characters from over the years, including Grimace, Birdie and the Hamburglar, as well as a new character named Cactus Buddy.

You’ll pick up one toy per order, so you’ll have to make a few trips to McDonald’s to bag all four of them – but that’s all part of the fun, isn’t it?
