Man eats nothing but KFC for an week and actually loses weight

A man lived on a diet of KFC for a week straight and actually ended up losing weight rather than piling on the pounds.

Mike Jeavons, who has a penchant for fried chicken, decided to film a mini-documentary mirroring the popular show Super Size Me – to see if he still enjoyed eating the greasy fast food after the seven days.

So the 34-year-old YouTuber travelled to his local KFC in Bedfordshire, England practically every day for the entirety of his experiment, spending a total of £105.

But in spite of the obvious financial drawbacks, indulging in fast food had an unexpected effect in that he managed to lose 2 lbs despite treating himself to nothing but the items on KFC’s menu.

An important thing to note is that rather than eat to excess, Jeavons decided to stick to his recommended daily calorie intake of 2,467 calories day.

And while it should go without saying, it’s probably wise to note that anyone who wants to lose some weight themselves shouldn’t take this to mean that living on a diet of fried chicken is the way to go.

Indeed, Jeavons may have lost some weight, but he did experience some considerable drawbacks in the aftermath of his experiment. For instance, he said that the following week, he felt constantly thirsty and suffered headaches. Jeavons’ salt intake increased by 150 per cent of his recommended dietary allowance and his fat intake increased to 250 per cent which probably accounts for the physical effects he experienced.
