Aldi launches massive pigs in blanket range for Christmas

Tis the season to get excited about pigs in blankets, folks, because all the supermarkets are revealing their Christmas ranges for 2023.

As always, Aldi is top of the pack when it comes to piggy innovation, releasing another corker of a range with some returning bangers and exciting new additions.

Returning this year is the Giant Yorkshire Pudding Pig In Blanket after its viral acclaim last Crimbo.

Yup, in case you don’t remember this bad boy, it’s literally a 60cm pig in blanket stuffed into a huge Yorkshire Pudding. It’s selling for £4.99 and is available from December 14th. Nice.

Yorkshire Puddings join the party in Aldi’s newest Christmas innovation too – after all, when a combination works it just works.

Their latest invention is a Yorkshire Pudding Wrap with Pigs In Blankets. Available from the 30th November, and “combines two succulent sausages wrapped in flavoursome smoky bacon nested in a deliciously buttery Yorkshire pudding wrap,” all for the price of £5.49.

If you prefer your sausages without so much batter, you can also get your hands on Specially Selected Brie & Cranberry Candy Cane Pig in Blankets (£2.99)

They come shaped as Candy Canes and infused with festive flavours.

Plus, if you’re after something a bit fancy, you can also order their Specially Selected Pork, Maple & Chestnut Chipolatas Wrapped in Bacon (£3.19), which promises “nutty, earthy notes” and smoky flavour from the bacon. Oooh eer. These are available from the 7th December.

It might sound like we’ve already dropped a lot of pigs in blankets on you, but Aldi is just getting started.

Returning to shelves is also the supermarket’s Specially Selected Chipolatas Wrapped in Bacon (£2.49). These are available in two flavours, Classic and Caramelised Onion, on shelves from the 19th December.

You can keep it plain and simple with Aldi’s Specially Selected Pigs in Blankets (£2.99), with no frills but all the meatiness, and vegetarians and vegans are catered to as well, thanks to the Plant Menu Ultimate Vegan Pigs in Blankets (£2.99).

Last but not least, those who truly can’t get enough of the meaty little bites can also enjoy theirs scattered over a pizza for the price of £4.49 from the 8th December.

The Specially Selected Pigs in Blanket Pizza was a hit last year, and sees the “artisan base lovingly hand-stretched with a blend of both wheat flour and sourdough and baked in traditional wood-fired pizza oven, before being topped with rich tomato sauce [and] selection of British bred pigs in blankets, cranberry sauce, British maple sliced turkey, with a garlic and herb British pork crumb”.

Phew, that’s your lot. Mark your calendars. This year at Aldi, your pig in blanket cravings will be met.
