Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

Aldi has announced the arrival of a tea that tastes just like Jaffa Cakes, and it sounds pretty lovely, tbh.

Yup, as part of the budget supermarket’s new tea range you can now buy Diplomat Jaffa Tea, which has rich chocolate and fresh, fruity orange flavour notes.

In fact, the supermarket promise it’s like biting into an actual Jaffa Cake (don’t mind if we do).

In a statement as it announced the new hot drink, Aldi said that their offering “adds a whole new level to the age-old debate of ‘is it a cake or a biscuit?'”

In this case, it’s neither, but with all the same banging flavours.

The new drink was shared on Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, and people were certainly excited about them.

“I wanna try!,” wrote one person.

Whilst another tagged a mate and penned: “Jaffa Cake, bit of you lol.”

“We need to find these,” said someone else to a friend.

Another said they’d tried the Jaffa Cake tea and found it “subtle but very nice,” adding that they preferred it with a “splash of milk in it.”

There are some other rather exciting tea blends up for grabs, too, including the Diplomat Salted Caramel Tea, if you’re someone with a sweet tooth.

Plus, you can get your hands on a Diplomat Biscuit Tea (perfect for dunking for extra biscuity goodness).

It boasts the malty taste of a biscuit in tea form, with rich, sweet buttery notes to be expected.

All three boxes are just £1.49 for 40 bags, meaning they’re not only fun and innovative but a downright bargain.

We love to see it!

Aldi aren’t the first to do biscuit flavoured tea, but they’re definitely one of the cheapest on the market.

For comparison, Yorkshire Tea’s biscuit brew will set you back £2.30 for 40 bags, making Aldi’s only a smidge over half price.

You can get your hands on the brews from 15th May, and they can all be enjoyed as they are or with milk and sugar as you prefer.
