After landing on shelves earlier this month, the Blonde Chocolate Flavour Creme Liqueur has caught our attention – and we have a feeling you’re going to love it, too.
It’s smooth a creamy, with sweet caramel notes and a mellow hit of Madagascan vanilla, too.
You can get a 70cl bottle for a bargain £8 online or in store, meaning your Christmas boozing just much more exciting, and you didn’t even have to break the bank.
For those who aren’t in the know, blonde chocolate (also known as toasted white chocolate or caramelised chocolate), is a white chocolate that is cooked to create a caramel flavour.
This is due to something called the Maillard reaction, which is when you reduce sugars and proteins by using heat.
Believe it or not, blonde chocolate was actually discovered by accident in 2006, by chocolate makers at the brand Valrhona.
It tastes slightly fuller and more complex than standard white chocolate, due to the high heat it is cooked at.
The creme liqueur isn’t the only offering from ASDA, which is also offering an Extra Special Salted Caramel & Blonde Chocolate Choux Wreath (£5.50), filled with British cream and topped with Belgian blonde chocolate.
You can also stock up on Extra Special Blonde Style Hot Chocolate (£2.75), a Tempting Blonde Caramel Cupcake Kit (£2) and a pack of Extra Special Sea Salted Caramel & Blonde Chocolate Chouxnuts (£3 for a pack of two).
The Chouxnuts are stuffed with a sea-salt caramel sauce and a delicious caramel mousse, and topped with a Belgian white chocolate sauce, and of course some blonde chocolate, too.
Sea salt, and decorated with caramel flavour curls finish them off.
If anybody asks what I want for Christmas this year, I’ll have this whole range, please…
