Burger King's brings back 'most requested burger' for Veganuary

Burger King has officially brought back an old favourite for Veganuary - and it's had a face lift.

Yup, the bean burger is back after a good few years off menus.

Now, you might think we're past the age of bean burgers, and all about artificial meat now.

But it appears there's very much an appetite for the OG veggie offering, with Burger King saying it's their "most requested product ever," and even citing petitions that called for its return.

The Ultimate Bean Burger comes filled with black beans, mushrooms, sweet red pepper, and green chilli, in a crunchy tortilla chip crumb.

For veggies, it's topped with American cheese, and vegans can have it without.

It's filled with crispy lettuce, sliced tomatoes, vegan mayonnaise and a tangy tomato ketchup, and comes in a light brioche-style bun. 

"It’s been amazing to see so much love for our Bean Burger, so we’re beyond excited to finally be bringing it back to menus," said a Burger King rep.

"We look forward to seeing old fans and soon-to-be fanatics tuck in and enjoy – all part of our commitment to go 50 percent meat-free by 2030."

Reacting to the news on social media, it's safe to say that people were excited about the beany addition to menus.

"Thank you for bringing back the bean burger!! Big moves," said one person, tagging the chain.

Whilst another wrote: "I used to love the @BurgerKingUK spicy bean burger years ago even before I went plant based. This means I can go back into BK again."

Another fan rushed to try the burger straight away, gushing: "Hallelujah Hallelujah thank you! Perfect, please don't take it away."
