Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

US pizza brand DiGiorno has just launched a new pizza which is going to anger purists everywhere – covered in two untraditional toppings.

Yup, we all know the age old debate about pineapple pizza, and you’ve probably heard us banging on about pickle pizza recently…

But what do you think of a pineapple and pickle pizza?!

The new creation is a 50-50 split, with pineapple scattered on one half of “a hand-tossed crust”, covered in “creamy garlic sauce, and mozzarella cheese.”

On the other half of the pizza are rounds of dill pickles, generously slathered about.

Now, before you get too excited, this controversial pizza isn’t widely available for wide release.

Instead, US citizens will have to fight to snag one during weekly drops on the DiGiorno website.

You’ll be able to buy one pizza only, so if you do like the sound of pickles and pineapples together, then now is your chance to try it.

The website goes live on September 5th, so mark your calendars, people!

When DiGiorno shared the news online, it’s safe to say that the crowds were divided.

“Ok I love pineapple pizza and I also love pickles but the jury is out on the combo lol,” said one person in the comments.

“I LOVE pineapple on pizza and I LOVE pickles on pizza!!!!!!,” someone else gushed.

Whilst a third said: “Now why are y’all dropping this on my grandpa’s birthday, I demand an apology or compensation for this disrespect. Man’s gonna be rolling in his grave.”

Not only is the pineapple and pickle pizza launching, but so is a bunch of merch.

You’ll be able to get your hands on pineapple and pickle bucket hats, shirts, and even pickleball paddles. What fun, ey?

DiGiorno’s has established itself as a bit of a leader when it comes to weird and wonderful pizzas.

Last year, it released a series of breakfast pies, including eggs benedict pizza, sausage and gravy and cinnamon roll.

They also announced they’d be distributing their pizzas via vending machines at places like Walmart and even on college campuses in the near future.

Sadly, no pineapple and pickle pizzas will be on offer here, but you could always customise your own!
