Doritos tease cheese and pickle flavour that leaves snackers divided

Doritos have teased a new cheese and pickle flavour – and people aren’t quite sure what to make of it.

Doritos are a classic, and everyone has their own preferences when it comes to flavour – from Cool Original to Tangy Cheese to Chilli Heatwave, there’s something for everyone.

As the years go by, the brand experiment with various flavours to see how people take to them (for instance, who knew that Loaded Pepperoni Pizza would go down so well?)

But what do you make of Cheese and Pickle flavour?

Yup, the brand has just shared a picture of Cheese and Pickle Doritos, and it has sent the internet into a frenzy.

Cheese and pickle sandwiches are an extremely British delicacy, and it’s a popular filling for a reason, so why wouldn’t it work as a Doritos flavour?

We might be behind it, but the flavour has caused a bit of a divide online.

In a social media post, the brand stated: “You asked, we delivered. Now the new official home of Cheese and Pickle.”

Confusingly though, the picture appears just to be a fantasy product, invented after followers voted for the flavour in a poll.

We’ve reached out to Doritos to enquire if they have plans to drop it in stores soon.

In the pic, the bag is something of a maroon colour and obviously features images of both cheese and pickle – though some have expressed that the flavour wasn’t a bit of them.

“This is too far… When I was a kid it was red or blue, and that was enough,” said one person in the comments.

A second wrote: “I’m looking for the people who asked, I’ll let you know when I find them.”

Despite the naysayers, others loved the idea, with one person writing: “I need that. I am going to look for several bags to eat.”

Meanwhile, a fourth chimed in: “Pickles? GOOD. Cheese? GOOD. Doritos? GOOD.”

Cheese and pickle aren’t for everyone, but considering the post has 30,000 comments at the time of writing, it’s definitely sparked a fair amount of hype.

If they ever got released, we’d certainly try them – but we’re unsure what dip to use… more pickle?
