KitKat is releasing a limited edition blueberry muffin flavour in the US

Ok, we thought the humble KitKat couldn’t get any better, but feast your eyes on this. 

Hershey has announced the launch of a limited edition blueberry muffin flavoured KitKat, and it sounds like a summer dream.

The bar is everything you’d usually expect from a KitKat – crunchy and packed with its trademark wafers – but it’s also so much more.

Instead of your classic chocolate coating, you can expect a blueberry muffin-flavoured creme, and what’s more, there are graham cookie pieces folded into the bar itself.

The taste? Fruity and sweet, toasty and comforting… a mixture of cake batter and freshly baked blueberries.

And the aesthetic is a bonus, too. We mean, who doesn’t love a purple chocolate bar?

“Our product creators have such passion for deciding which flavor Kit Kat should take on next and making sure it delivers for our fans,” said Dan Williard, brand manager of Kit Kat.

“Kit Kat Blueberry Muffin has already become one of our favourites. It has all the taste of a freshly baked blueberry muffin, but no baking required.”

The bad news for UK shoppers is that the chocolate bar is only available in the US (sob), where it is currently selling nationwide, on a limited run.

But don’t fear, like the knights in shining armour that we are, Twisted has reached out to KitKat to quiz them on if we should expect a UK drop any time soon.

Of course, we’ll update you should they crop up for sale anywhere over here, so you can grab one to try for yourself.

The flavour launched this month, and lucky American shoppers can bag themselves a  1.5-oz standard bar, a 3-oz. king bar, or a 0.49-oz snack size KitKat Blueberry Muffin bar, whilst stocks last. Prices will vary depending on the retailer.

The bars join a long line of fun spin-off flavours, including Birthday Cake Kit Kats, which landed in 2020; Apple Pie and Key Lime Pie flavours in 2021, and the seasonal Pumpkin Pie Kit Kats, which make a return every Autumn in the States.
