McDonald's launches global menu for the Olympics - but there's a catch

People in France are living our dreams ATM, with many watching some of the top athletes in the world compete in the 2024 Olympics.

But there's another dream they could be living, and it's nothing to do with the games themselves.

Did you know McDonald's has created a special secret menu for the Paris Olympics, and it includes some of the most popular menu items from around the world?

Yup, like McDonald's Florida outpost, which famously offers up a global menu, the chain is launching a special selection of some of their best international dishes, to honour the sporting competition, and all the nations competing.

The global Maccies menu features favourites from several countries, including Canada, New Zealand and Cyprus – and looking at it, we're seriously considering booking a flight.

The full menu features:

• Canada's Maple BBQ Quarter Pounder - a quarter-pound beef patty with bacon, onions, cheese, lettuce and a special maple barbecue sauce
• Cyprus' Greek Mac - think Big Mac, kebab hybrid. Two beef patties with lemon sauce, onions, lettuce and sliced tomatoes, stuffed in a pita bread.
• New Zealand's Filet-O-Fish Deluxe - featuring a bigger fish patty than your standard Filet-O-Fish, with American cheese, lettuce, and tartar sauce.
• The UK's Garlic Sauce - the once limited edition classic garlic mayonnaise dip to be paired with fries.
• The US' Szechuan Sauce - a cult spicy, numbing dip to be eaten with McNuggets.
• The Philippines' Coca-Cola McFloat - a retro dessert featuring Coca-Cola with a scoop of vanilla soft-serve in it.
• Indonesia's Caramel Popcorn McFlurry - featuring smooth vanilla soft serve with caramel sauce stirred through, and topped with crisp caramel popcorn.

Sadly, there are no plans to launch a global menu in the UK at the moment.

As if the people of France don't have enough to be excited about by now, it's available there right now until September 2nd.
