The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is set to launch a new cooking show on Netflix.
Yep, you may not have considered her a chef, but the former Suits actress turned royal is turning her hand back to television, starring in a new lifestyle series about "cooking".

The series will also focus on other hobbies like "gardening, entertaining and friendship," according to Deadline. Intriguing, right?
The new project is part of the Duchess' new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which is named after the area in Santa Barbara she is from.
“Santa Barbara has been fondly referred to as ‘The American Riviera’ for more than a century because of its temperate climate and lush landscapes, as well as its robust food and wine culture," Travel + Leisure explained at the time she launched it.

Everything we know about Meghan Markle's Netflix show
So, what do we know about Meghan Markle's cooking and lifestyle show at the moment?
Well, it doesn't yet have a name, as it's still in early stages, with production only having begun in April.
We're pretty light on information about the format, too, other than the fact gardening and cooking will be involved, and we don't yet know when it's going to be released (but our guess is there will be a little wait, if it's in production ATM).
We can expect it to be decent when it does arrive, though, seeing as Deadline is reporting director Michael Steed is behind it, known from the likes of Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown.
Plus, Leah Hariton, the show-runner behind Selena Gomez's HBO cooking show, Selena + Chef will also be making an appearance on the show's stellar team.

Meghan is set to executive produce the show, so she'll be heavily involved in how it looks, and she'll work alongside names like Chanel Pysnik and IPC’s Eli Holzman and Hariton and Aaron Saidman, too.
What is Meghan Markle's cooking background
Whilst at first it might seem like her cooking know-how isn't on par with her acting or other public duties, when you look into it, Meghan's passion for food has always been present.
When she was back in the UK with Prince Harry, she actually helped curate a cookbook named Together, to raise funds for west London's Hubb Community Kitchen in the aftermath of the Grenfell fire.
Before she was a royal, and when she ran lifestyle page, The Tig, Meghan also shared recipes with her followers, including matzo ball soup and ginger berry crumble, proving she has long known what she was doing in the kitchen.
She even appeared on US TV showcasing her recipes, in particular one for a cocktail, the Signature Tig Cup, before closing down the blog during the height of her relationship, in 2017.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Netflix deal
Meghan Markle's new Netflix show comes as part of a $100 million (£85m) deal they signed with Netflix back in 2020.
We were told at the time the partnership would be made up of documentaries and docu-series, as well as feature films, scripted shows, and children’s programming – so, pretty broad.
So far, we've seen the pair star in a two volume Netflix show named Harry & Meghan back in December 2022.
You can watch a trailer for that here...
Harry is set to be working on new stuff too, with Deadline suggesting that he is currently producing a show about professional polo, off the back of the success of shows like Drive to Survive.
Set to be "shot primarily at the U.S. Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida, at The USPA National Polo Center, the series will explore the world of the sport", the publication explains.
Polo is known for being one of the flashiest sports around, enjoyed by some of the richest in the world, but what about the people who play it?
As a keen polo player himself, Prince Harry is apparently setting out to show the determination and grit needed to succeed.
The series will be produced by Boardwalk Pictures, who are also behind Netflix’s Chef’s Table, Pepsi, Where’s My Jet? and Sex, Love & Goop.

"Our lives, both independent of each other, and as a couple, have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience, and the need for connection," they said at the time, in a statement.
"Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope."
