Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

Just when you thought your Nando’s order couldn’t be beaten, the Peri-Peri purveyor has only gone and teased a brand new menu item.

Oh, and pssst… we think we’ve worked out what it is!

Yup, over on the chicken chain’s Instagram a few days ago, a post wrote: “F_ _ l _ L _ _ _ ed C _ _ _ _,” with an eyeball emoji.

Any guesses? No? Well, we’ll put you out of your misery.

The vast consensus in the comments is that this stands for Fully Loaded Chips, and after a game of fill in the blanks, we’d be inclined to agree.

As for exactly what these chips will be loaded with, your guess is as good as ours, but we’d guess there will be some Peri-Peri spicing on there, as well as chicken, halloumi and some salad bits too.

But we can be pretty sure we’ve guessed the secret new drop correctly, seeing as replying to one rather leading comment on Twitter this morning (5th June), the brand appeared to give the game away.

“If Nando’s had loaded fries I don’t think I’d eat anywhere else again @NandosUK pls,” the comment read, to which they replied “06.06.23…”. Eeeek!

Reacting to the announcement on Instagram and Twitter, fans of the eatery were certainly excited once they cracked the code.

“Omggg dreams come true,” wrote one person.

As another gushed: “HOLY SH*T.”

A third tagged a mate and wrote: “Fully loaded chips?… when we going?”

As a fourth excitedly penned: “This is gonna be the best day ever.”

There has been some speculation that the new dish could be something like the Fiesta Fries available in international Nando’s branches, like their South African chains.

These are topped with tender PERi-PERi pulled chicken, sautéed onions and cheese sauce. Oooft.

Whatever it may look like, Nando’s confirmed the new product won’t be out for delivery, and will only be available to order in UK branches of the restaurant, excluding Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland for the time being.

We’re eagerly awaiting the full announcement tomorrow. Keep your eyes peeled and we’ll update you as soon as we know more.

Then after that? We’ll see you down in Nando’s.
