Ready to feel nostalgic?
Everyone’s favourite childhood drink is hitting headlines today – yes, we’re talking about SunnyD.
The Harvest Hill squash brand has only gone and launched a hard seltzer which is set to hit shelves over in the US on March 11th.
The drop comes after people had been begging SunnyD to venture into the booze space, according to its Chief Marketing Officer Ilene Bergenfeld.
Bergenfeld noted that people often enjoyed SunnyD as a ‘mixer’, so an alcoholic version seemed like the obvious next move.

“We looked at the hard seltzer category, and thought, good, but we can do better…and SunnyD Vodka Seltzer was born,” she said.
Tasting exactly like the sweet orange soft drink, the new seltzer naturally has a kick of vodka, too.
The drink has a 4.5 ABV and comes in a four pack of 12oz (354ml) cans, which are said to cost around $9.99 (£8.44).
Unfortunately, there company is yet to announce plans to bring the drink over to the UK, however, here’s hoping its a hit in the States and they decide to roll it out globally.
Before its launch the SunnyD was given to a bunch of taste testers to cast their verdict.
And apparently, they noted the tipple had a “great colour, texture, and aroma,” whilst also noting a that it had a “great after taste,” was “very refreshing and easy to drink”.
“We have developed something we know adult SunnyD fans and hard seltzer enthusiasts alike will be proud to enjoy,” said Bergenfeld.
As you can imagine, news of the adult SunnyD has travelled fast, and it’s safe to say that the internet has some thoughts.
“I’m shook,” said one guy as he spotted the drinks on shelves a little early.
Meanwhile, another confused shopper wrote: “This is either the high point of civilisation or the surest sign of its downfall. (Also… where can I buy some in San Diego? Anyone know???).”

“SunnyD vodka seltzer I fuckinggg need to try lol, (sic)” penned a third.
As a fourth chipped in: “It was only a matter of time.”
If you’re a 90s baby, you’ll definitely remember SunnyD being all the rage. It was the drink of the time; some might even say it was a moment.

After being acquired by Harvest Hill in 2017, the drink has had somewhat of a revival in the US, seeing more than a 30 percent growth in popularity in the last couple of years.
“SunnyD is a powerful brand, the most boldly unique orange drink on the planet,” Bergenfeld added. “Consumers are passionate about this iconic brand, rooted in nostalgia but with a taste that resonates today.”
