Steak and bourbon ice cream is now a thing

Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

If you weren’t satisfied by the dozens of flavours of ice cream made available, you’re in luck – because there seem to be more and more obscure types of the delicious dessert cropping up all the time.

Love cookie butter? Well, Biscoff are now making cookie butter ice cream in five different flavours available in the US.

Vegan? Well it turns out that Oatly are launching their very own oat milk ice cream. You can even grow your own blue bananas that apparently taste just like vanilla ice cream, if you’re looking for something a little different.

Then, of course, there’s the fact that Ben & Jerry’s promised they’re making a CBD-infused ice cream “as soon as it’s legalized at the federal level”. Not a bad time to be an ice cream fan, is it?

Next up to innovate in the world of ice cream is Longhorn Steakhouse, who have come up with a strange concoction indeed. They’re putting steak and bourbon-flavoured ice cream on their dessert menu, which is curious, to say the least.

Their new ice cream flavour has the same signature seasoning Longhorn uses for their steaks and bourbon-flavoured caramel, and (weirdly enough) steak bits on top.

This is quite the strange collaboration between savoury and sweet flavours, but it’s sure to draw in at least a few meat-obsessives – or simply those who can’t resist trying out something this unusual on the menu. So when and where can you have it?

If you’re looking to try it out anytime soon, you’ll have to drop by one of the participating Longhorn locations. That means you can grab one of the steak and bourbon ice creams at restaurants in Miami-Fort Lauderdale, New York City, Chicago, Tampa, Cleveland, Nashville, and Atlanta.

Each serving costs just $3.99 once you make it down, and will be on the menu from July 1.
