Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

We all love a Maccies once in a while, don’t we?

But with purse strings getting tighter, you might not be able to indulge in a fast food fix as much as you’d like.

Fear not, though! Budget supermarket Aldi is here to save the day, bringing out their own fries which are being hailed an exact dupe to the McDonald’s ones.

Dubbed the Oakhurst Takeaway Style French Fries, the product is priced at £1.49 for a pack of two and is causing quite a storm on social media.

‘How good can supermarket fries be?,’ I hear you ask. Well, apparently as good as the ones from the Golden Arches.

“Got them today and just had them tonight for dinner…just like Maccies fries, love the little boxes to put them in,” said one person in the comments.

Whilst another wrote: “This is big for those, ‘we have mcdonalds @ home’ moms (sic).”

“Brought them today my lil lad loved them,” said a third. “The amount u get in them is great so there loads left over for another time (sic).”

Small individual fries at McDonald’s typically cost 99p, whilst a medium fries sets you back £1.49.

This means that your Aldi fries actually offer you more potato for your buck.

Aldi’s frozen ‘dupes’ have reached a somewhat legendary status in recent years.

They’ve also got their own versions of McNuggets and hash browns which some might say are strikingly similar to those you’d find in McDonald’s.

Of course, Aldi would never say this themselves, especially after all the Colin the Caterpillar drama they had with Marks & Spencer last year.

But, hey, we’re just here to tell you what the people are saying… make of it what you will.
