Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

You might know Drew Barrymore from Charlie’s Angels, or more recently from that clip of her gleefully dancing in the rain, but the actress might soon be best known for infuriating Italian Nonnas with a TikTok recipe.

Yup, the 50 First Dates favourite has branched into the TikTok food space – but people aren’t too convinced by her now viral recipe.

“If you’re having a day when you’re trying to not eat the bread, I just take the top of the pizza and a little salad, which has basically all the same toppings as the pizza, and then I make a pizza salad,” Drew says in a video.

As the actress shares her health hack, she can be seen picking up a slice of pizza and scraping the toppings onto a leafy salad which sits alongside it.

Yup, she literally scrapes off the tomato sauce, green peppers, olives and cheese, and voila! This is what Drew dubs a ‘pizza salad’.

“I’m sure people are going to be like, ‘How dare you do this to pizza?’” she said in the video. “I feel really guilty about it myself.”

And we’ll admit, that’s exactly what we thought. Sorry Drew.

Now, don’t get us wrong, we like both elements of Drew’s pizza salad. Salad leaves? No issues there. Pizza toppings? Delicious. But together? The pizza salad just sounds odd.

Of course, for those who are gluten intolerant, we can kind of see the point of this creation, but if you’re doing it to be healthy? Just make a nicer salad, or eat a couple of slices of pizza rather than the whole thing.

Life is too short to ruin two perfectly tasty dinner options, right?

It seems a lot of people were in agreement, with one writing: “I don’t even like pizza and I’m offended by this.”

Whilst comedian Mike Birbiglia commented: “Drew, I’m filing a lawsuit on behalf of pizza.”

“Just eat the pizza Love!!!!! For pizza sake,” joked a fellow follower.

As a fourth agreed, writing: “DREW PLZ SAY SIKE”.

At the end of the video, Drew does take a bite of the pizza, and it’s clear that even she knows the carby option is far superior.

A word of advise from team Twisted, if you’re gonna copy Drew, at least throw in some more interesting options than green peppers and olives.

How about you pick between assorted meat, burrata or ‘Nduja sausage, with fresh tomatoes and a basil dressing? Now that’s a pizza salad we could get behind.
