Haribo fans are losing it after discovering the flavour of the green Goldbear

Haribo is arguably the most recognisable name in the world of sweets, as the German confectionary holds a special place in hearts across the world.

Whether you’re a Tangfastic fan or simply opt for the classics, it’s hard to navigate your way through a grocery shop without seeing a packet of Haribo.

But how much do you really know about the beloved sweets, and would you be able to name the flavours based on the colours of a Goldbear?

Well, people are only just finding out what the green Goldbear flavour is – and let’s just say the reaction has been quite something.

An image was shared to Twitter which showed the flavours, and of course there is the standard orange, raspberry and lemon…

But did you know that green isn’t apple?

You’d be forgiven if that’s what you thought, but the green Goldbear is actually strawberry flavoured… just dwell on that for a moment.

As you sit there reevaluating everything you’ve ever believed, you should be comforted to know that people who saw the image on Twitter didn’t take too kindly to it either.

One person penned: “I would have been SO MUCH nicer to Green had I known!”

A second added: “I was today years told when my 4 yr old schooled me on the [flavour] when I told her it’s apple, she said No, mom! It’s strawberry. Showed me the back and she was right.”

Whilst some (including us) were genuinely mind-boggled by the news, not everybody was shocked by the revelation, and some claim to have had this information for years.

One person wrote: “It’s plain to see people aren’t true fans of Haribo gummie bears if they was they would have always known the green one is strawberry [flavour]..

“Nothing has changed its been that flavor since the beginning of time. This is coming from a fan that buys them weekly.”

A second defiantly said: “Always knew that strawberry was green.

“When I was a kid I had skittles which the green was lime before green apple then and then I had these gummy bears and after I ate a green one I knew the [flavour] was strawberry checked the package to double check.”

It's plain to see people aren't true fans of Haribo gummie bears if they was they would have always known the green one is strawberry flavor.. Nothing has changed its been that flavor since the beginning of time. This is coming from a fan that buys them weekly 👀🙄🤦‍♀️

Despite some people clearly having insider knowledge, this revelation has definitely taken the internet by surprise.

Turns out we weren’t quite as loyal fans of the Goldbear as we thought…
