We all love a bag of Haribo, don't we? But when you're tucking into your Tangfastics, have you ever pondered that the sweet you thought was a key was actually something entirely different?
Yup, people on the internet (us included) are just learning that one of their favourite sweets isn't what they thought it was, after all.
The drama all happened over on Reddit, when one individual posted: “After five years of marriage, we’ve just discovered that my wife and I refer to this particular Haribo sweet as something different to each other. What do you call this Haribo?”
He then shared a picture of the round, ring shaped sweet with what appeared to be a long handle – aka, the key, right?
Wrong!

"I used to call them keys before I found out they were dummies," said one person in the comments.
Whilst another wrote: "I always thought they were meant to be a fizzy version of the ‘ring’ Haribos but dummy makes sense now that I take another look at it."
"It's a dummy. The things babies put in their mouths," someone else reiterated
Was anybody else today years old when they discovered this?
"It was a key to me but I know they’re apparently dummies. But they’re clearly not dummies," a fourth chimed in.
But another commenter noted that it even "says so on their packaging…"
We might have lived our lives thinking the dummies were something else entirely, but plenty of others have been dummy fans for years.
Haribo even sell tubs and bags of them individually in some parts of the world!

So, that's the end of that debate. Every day is a school day!
In other Haribo related news, several others recently just discovered that the green gummy bear is, in fact, strawberry flavoured, not lemon or lime flavoured like the colour might suggest.
The furore over that was similar, even though (once again) it says it all on the packet.
We guess we should all be studying our Haribo bags a little closer before tucking in...
