Everyone’s losing it over this man using a hot dog as a straw for his beer

Listen, we wouldn’t say no to a hot dog in most scenarios. Frankly, who would?

But we must admit we were a little perplexed when we came across this footage of a Yankees fan using a hot dog as a straw to drink his beer at a US baseball game.

We mean, each to their own, but we’d love to know what was going through his head before he tried that one…

The video was shared by Instagram account, @newyorknico, which is run by Nicolas Heller – an American documentary film director.

And… well…. watch it for yourself:

In it, a man can be seen poking a hole in a hot dog with a plastic straw and then sucking the excess meat out of the other end.

He then puts the newly created ‘hot dog straw’ into his beer and proceeds to suck away at it. Mmmm, meaty pint, anyone?

“Wtf is going on at baseball games this year?,” wrote Nicholas, sharing the clip with his 990,000 followers.

And naturally, the comments were utter chaos. Some people were clearly perplexed by the decision, some were disgusted and some shamefully admitted they kinda digged the idea.

“I wish there was a way to go back in time and not watch this,” wrote one person.

As another reasoned: “This guy is saving the turtles”.

“CALL THE FEDS,” said somebody else.

As a fourth penned: “Why do I want to try it?”.

Luckily for the man in question, his identity remains unknown and so he can keep using his hot dog straw in spite of the haters.

And he’s probably feeling pretty smug, anyway, because not only did he get a good hot dog and a beer, but he also got to see the Yankees beat the New York Mets 4-2. So, there.

Of course, if we’re being honest with ourselves, the truth is we all have our weird food quirks, sometimes. Some people put Ketchup on everything and others dip their McDonald’s fries in their milkshake.

Whilst we personally won’t be trying his method any time soon, we think we should leave hot dog straw man to slurp away on his drink as he pleases.
