You've probably seen by now... the McRib is back, after pleas from adoring fans.

Yup, the porky McDonald's burger, famously made with barbecue sauce, pickles and onions, has finally returned to the UK.

But almost a decade after it was last available, people are already noticing a difference in the new burger compared to its previous iteration.

You can have a gander below at how the McRib was previously prepared:

As TikToker @madaboutmaccies explains, the McRib pork patty used to be dunked into the BBQ marinade for maximum sauciness, but it now appears that the bun is just drizzled with the sauce instead.

In a vid shown by @formbymcdonalds – a branch based in Mersyside, UK – the new McRib cooking process has been revealed, and you wouldn't think it has made a huge difference, but a lot of people seem to think it has.

Reacting to the video, one person wrote: "Last time they was here like 10 years ago, the meat was in the sauce tray, not just sauce on the bun."

"That’s not how you prep the McRib it’s dipped sauce pal I am not coming to you McDonald’s," said someone else.

While a third wrote: "I thought the Rib patty is DROWNED in the sauce."

Of course, we can't guarantee this is how every Maccies branch is making a McRib, so you might wanna check out your local before drawing any conclusions.

Speaking to Metro, the chain did confirm the cooking process of the McRib had changed, though.

"Over the years the flavour of the product has remained the same, however we have evolved the way the sauce is dispensed. We have managed to remove complexity and simplify procedures for our crewmembers whilst still delivering the iconic McRib sauce that our fans love," they said.

Hey, we're sure it'll still taste epic, but there's no denying a pork slab dunked straight into a sea of BBQ sauce would have been delightful.
