There are some life hacks we pick up way too late into adulthood.
Case in point...you know storing milk in the door of the fridge is a bad idea?
It may not be common practice, but there's a reason it's actually better to tuck your milk carton somewhere at the back of the fridge.
Let us explain.

You see, it's all about picking the coolest parts of the fridge, and when you think about it, it's pretty obvious the door isn't gonna be that.
Jennifer Shaw, an expert from Plumbworld, told the Daily Express said: "This area is warmer than the rest of the fridge, which could be the reason your milk isn't lasting very long.
"Try storing it in the main part of the fridge instead. You should be able to move the shelves around to accommodate it."
It doesn't just stop at milk. The expert also warns eggs should be in the main part of the fridge, too, whilst sauces and less perishable drinks are more suitable in the door.

“Fridges have sections that are colder and warmer than others, which helps because different foods keep better at different temperatures," she explained.
“Meat and fish, for example, need to be kept colder. This will mostly be at the rear of the fridge, where there is less impact from opening and closing the door. But it might be worth using a thermometer to check this out."
The vegetable compartment found in most fridges has a special purpose, too.
Usually located at the bottom of the fridge, apparently it's not as dry as other areas, so keeps things fresh for longer.

When you think about it, it's pretty obvious that you can make food last longer by storing it in the most practical places, depending how easily it goes off.
But, hey, sometimes the easiest life hacks are right under our noses the whole time!
