Spaghetti pancakes are the latest TikTok trend everyone’s obsessed with

TikTok has a habit of taking ordinary meals and making them quirky, whether it’s sushi made from Oreos or chicken nuggets stuffed with pickle slices, we’ve just about seen it all at this point.

Some of these recipes have gone down a storm in the Twisted kitchen, whilst others have ended up firmly in the bin, where they belong.

But the latest trend to swoop the app is spaghetti pancakes, and it looks like one of the winners.

Spaghetti pancakes aren’t pancakes made of spaghetti (although we kinda wanna try those, too), instead they’re little thin pieces of pancake that are served in a bowl, like the pasta.

Shared by TikToker, Briana Archuleta, the ‘spaghetti’ is made by squirting thin zig zags of pancake batter into a pan and frying them, rather than cooking the batter in the usual circular pancake shape.

Next, the strands of pancake are thrown into a bowl and drizzled in maple syrup and powdered sugar. How good do these look?

Whilst, in truth, the recipe isn’t too dissimilar to funnel cake, a traditional North American recipe, made by deep frying batter, it’s safe to say that loads of people were inspired to try the TikTok after coming across it.

“Saw this at 8am now my bf is going to make it for breakfast,” said one person in the comments.

Whilst another wrote: “I’m very impressed and need to make this for my family of pancake & spaghetti lovers”.

“What in the ‘Buddy the elf is going on here,” joked somebody else.

As a fourth wrote: “This is genius!!!”

Since the video went viral, amassing over 8 million views and counting, people have started sharing their own versions of spaghetti pancakes, tweaking the toppings and getting creative.

One TikToker made a strawberries and cream version, whilst another doused theirs in actual meatballs – something we wouldn’t advise doing at home.
