Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

A TikTok chef has blown up the app with a recipe which is as controversial as it is genius – spaghetti tacos.

In a TV reference that seems to have resonated with 90s kids everywhere, TikToker @zaynahbakes knocked up the frankly brilliant creation after seeing the dish on teen show, iCarly, when she was younger.

Don’t recall? Let us refresh your memory:

“I’ve dreamt of eating spaghetti tacos ever since I saw it on iCarly 10 years ago,” she says on the app. “Then I realised I’m an adult and can cook whenever tf I want… so here we are (sic).”

You’ll have to check out Zaynah’s TikTok page for the full recipe, but to give you a flavour of what to expect, they’re made with a sort of minced meat bolognese that’s seasoned like chilli, and stirred into spaghetti.

This filling is then added into hard taco shells with cheese, and voila! It’s what Carly would have wanted.

As connoisseurs of fusion foods here at Twisted, we don’t need to tell you that this is our sorta thing, and people in the comments agreed.

“Let’s live our iCarly lives,” wrote one person, tagging a mate in the comments.

Whilst another said: “Wait these look so good”.

“Childhood memory unlocked,” chipped in somebody else.

Nostalgic food with flavours from Italy and Mexico? Errr, yes please.

Naturally, people acknowledged the tacos wouldn’t be everyone’s cuppa tea.

“An Italian is having a heart attack somewhere but idc this looks cool,” wrote a fourth.

But let’s be honest, good or bad, we all wanna try them, right?!

The brainchild of TV writer, Dan Schneider, the spaghetti tacos were a regular feature on iCarly, after appearing in the first season, during the episode, ‘iWill Date Freddie’.

The episode sees character Spencer create the unique dish for date, Freddie – and it seems that they made an impression on viewers at home.

Subsequently, spaghetti tacos have appeared on the cover of Food and Wine mag and Schneider’s wife, Lisa Lillien, has even knocked them up on her cooking show, Hungry Girl.

Now TikTok has jumped back on this trend, we expect to see them everywhere again… and we’re not mad at it!
