Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

The Little Mermaid’s premiere took place in Australia recently, but people had some gripes about the food offered to attendees.

Yup, as the live-action movie premiered Down Under, the organisers seemed to forget about some of its main characters were part fish – obliviously serving them sushi.

Taking to TikTok, several attendees who were at the event took to the app to share their bewilderment, with describing the choice as “dark” and “sick”.

“To whoever planned this. You’re sick. But also brilliant,” said one TikTok user, Cody Jon, on the video sharing platform.

“Who on earth was in charge of the menu and WHY,” wrote someone else.

“She wanted to be a part of our world,” said another rather bleakly.

Whilst a fellow user joked: “RIP Flounder you would have loved the movie.”

“I was like why is it dark… scrolled three videos and was like OHHHH,” someone else chimed in.

Yep. Once you clock it, it’ll haunt you.

The Australian premiere took place at the State Theatre in Sydney, Australia, and featured appearances from Ariel actress, Halle Bailey, Ursula actress Melissa McCarthy and the film’s director and producer Rob Marshall.

Landing on cinema screens on May 26th, it’ll then be arriving on Disney+ later this year.

We’ll be watching…but maybe not with a side of sushi!
