The McRib is back - As McDonald's launches seven new menu items today

The legendary McRib sandwich is sliding back into McDonald’s menus across the UK today, sparking excitement among fast food aficionados who’ve awaited its return since it last graced the counters in 2015.

The iconic sandwich, known for its boneless pork patty shaped like ribs and smothered in BBQ sauce, topped with onions and pickles on a toasted bun, is making a limited-time appearance to delight its cult following.

The Return of a Classic

First introduced in 1981, the McRib quickly garnered a dedicated fanbase, despite being axed from the menu just four years later. Its sporadic reappearances have only fueled the McRib mystique, with the latest return being teased cryptically via McDonald’s app throughout September.

Some fans even caught glimpses of mysterious notifications hinting at the McRib’s comeback, building anticipation for its official launch. "McRib_Test.notification_16.10.24 [TEST]", the message read -- an error or genius marketing ploy from Maccies?

For those looking to indulge, the McRib will set you back £4.49 for the sandwich alone, or £6.19 if you opt for a medium extra value meal. But hurry — this BBQ delight is here for a good time, not a long time.

New on the Menu

But that's not all! McDonald's UK is also dropping some tantalizing new items.

Cheese lovers can rejoice over the new Mozzarella and Emmental Bites, available in a five-piece box or a 15-piece sharing box, perfect with a side of BBQ dip.

For the coffee connoisseurs, the toasted marshmallow latte adds a sweet twist to your caffeine routine, also available as a hot chocolate. Perfect as we're moving into those chilly Autumnal days.

Not forgetting breakfast, the new mini hash brown bites are here to add some variety to your morning routine.

Available during breakfast hours, these little crispy delights come in single portions or a sharebox.

And for those with a sweet tooth, the toffee apple pie makes a comeback with its crispy pastry filled with spiced apple compote and toffee pieces.

The McCrispy Deluxe also returns, featuring a chicken breast fillet with spicy mayo, caramelized onion compote, seasonal lettuce, bacon, red onions, and cheddar on a sourdough-style bun.

And to top it off - as if we haven't been spoiled enough - the Halloween season gets a sweet nod with the new Halloween M&M’s McFlurry, a delectable mix of ice cream, M&M's, Halloween sugar shapes, and Galaxy chocolate sauce.
