Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

A woman has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a video of herself refusing to get out the car when she realises her date is taking her to the Cheesecake Factory.

The woman, named Alicia, received a mixed response after locking her passenger door when her date Jay pulled up at the US fast food eatery.

The video was subsequently shared on the platform by Monique Santos (who isn’t woman in the clip).

“He got me at the Cheesecake Factory y’all. I ain’t getting out of this car,” the woman said with a look of disapproval slapped across her face.

Her date then attempted to open the car door, but instead she wound down the window and filmed his reaction as she lambasted him for his choice of restaurant.

When she scoffed at the Cheesecake Factory, he replied: “What’s wrong with that?”

“This is a chain restaurant, who takes someone that looks like this to a chain restaurant?,” she responded, still filming the whole encounter.

“You expect a man to go all out on the first date?”, he questioned in response.

“When you take out a beautiful woman, and you’re courting her, because I get courted,” she replied. “You’re supposed to take care of her, you’re supposed to cover her, you’re supposed to protect her, cherish her, treat her well.”

“I expect a girl to be respectful, I expect her to be cooperative,” her date said, not having any of it.

But she didn’t seem to be grasping how her response was coming across, retorting: “What did I do that wasn’t cooperative?”

The duo continue arguing in the video and it emerges that Jay had originally booked another venue but had to pick somewhere else because Alicia took so long to get ready.

Following an hour wait outside her house, he settled on the Cheesecake Factory.

“What’s wrong with the cheesecake factory??,” wrote one person alongside a string of laughing emojis.

“He’s really nice because she would’ve had to Uber while [I] ate at the Cheesecake Factory alone,” commented someone else.

A third wrote: “I would have been hyped for Cheesecake Factory for a first date and in this economy. Chile I would have ordered my usual and had a good time.”

Whilst a fourth chipped in: “Hahaha you played yourself.”

There were others who chipped in to suggest the video must have been a skit, seeing as Alicia was staring into the camera the whole time.

However, the duo later appeared on TikTok chat show Kevin Wesley THE TRUTH FACTory to discuss the viral dispute.

“I felt like [he] didn’t see my value. In that moment, I felt like I needed the support of my viewers in that moment,” Alicia said.

“I discuss relationships and things like that, so I thought that that was a good opportunity for me to have that conversation and see like what does everybody else think.

“I wasn’t really taking [Jay’s] feelings into consideration, I wasn’t trying to be necessarily malicious or anything.”

“Her recording me did feel like that’s where she was trying to take advantage,” Jay said in the video.

“It felt at the time that [she was] trying to get a free meal from a fancy restaurant and then get content from me too to post on YouTube or Facebook.”
