Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

Rejoice, for a way to open a bottle of wine without a corkscrew has been found!

Is there much worse in this world than being excited to sit down with a nice glass of wine, only to find that there isn’t a way to open the bottle?

In moments like these, we all resort back to our instincts as neanderthals and hope that a mixture of stabbing it, hitting it, and putting it in fire will help.

Unfortunately, this usually ends in chunks of the cork falling into the wine and we’re left having to filter it out by passing the booze through a sieve or filter.

While putting wine in a decanter can result in a better taste, and also make it look like you know what you’re doing, for the most part, we just want the wine to go from the bottle to the glass to our mouths.

So what should you do when you find yourself without a corkscrew? A TikToker who goes by the handle @ty.ree.suh may have the answer for us.

The trick is actually pretty simple and only uses utensils that most people will have in their kitchen – because a fork and a knife are pretty standard, right?

The TikToker shows how easy it is, as all that it takes is to stab the knife into the cork as far as it goes (being incredibly careful obviously) and use prongs of the fork to twist the cork out.

This basically creates a makeshift corkscrew, and eventually you’ll be able to grab the cork and get to the part everyone really wants – the drinking.

People flooded the comments with their approval, as it seems that the hack actually works and people couldn’t believe that they’d gone their whole life without this knowledge.

One commenter declared that the knowledge had come too late as this would have been perfect to know in college – and honestly, it’s hard to disagree.

Another wine lover concurred, tragically commenting: “Where was this other day when I had to break the top with a hammer.”

Smashing the top of a bottle with a hammer goes to show the lengths people will go to in order to get their wine, so hopefully this hack removes the need for any of that.

It goes without saying, be careful when sticking a knife in the cork – but enjoy the wine!
