Domino’s adds new cheeseburger and chicken tacos pizzas to the menu

One of Newton’s lesser-known laws states that basically everything can be converted into a pizza. It’s sandwiched between the one about equal and opposite reactions and the one about acceleration. Honest. 

As anyone who keeps up to date with the fast-food industry will be aware, this irrefutable fact of physics remains just as true today as it was when the good doctor was sitting in an apple orchard. In fact, if the modern pizza business proves anything, it’s that traditional toppings are there to be ignored. This has been aptly demonstrated by the latest release from Domino’s.

In a bid to appeal to the ever-expanding palate of the average American, the world’s biggest pizza chain has branched out into exciting new territory, offering customers two tasty pies that are as far removed from Margherita as it’s possible to get. 

Created especially for delivery in these pandemic-affected times, the chain’s new cheeseburger and chicken taco pizzas might just be the ultimate takeaway package, offering to combine two fast-food favourites for the price of one.

According to a press release accompanying the announcement, the cheeseburger pizza features a “tasty ketchup-mustard sauce, American cheese, beef, fresh onions, diced tomatoes, shredded provolone and cheddar cheese.” 

Alternatively, the chicken taco is made with “American cheese, taco seasoning, grilled chicken, fresh onions, green peppers, diced tomatoes, provolone cheese and cheddar cheese.” Both will be available from $11.99.

In a statement, Art D’Elia, DomiTno’s executive vice president-chief marketing officer, declared:

“We’re excited to add even more options to our lineup of delicious specialty pizzas. Now friends and family who are craving a taco or cheeseburger on pizza night won’t be disappointed. Domino’s new taco and cheeseburger pizzas are sure to satisfy everyone.”

They might be slightly on the unorthodox side, but there’s no doubt that the new pizzas sound seriously intriguing.
