Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

Weirdly for a pizza restaurant, the pizza isn’t actually the most important part of eating a Domino’s.

Although the stodgy, sweet dough and tomato sauce is uniquely delicious, any seasoned veteran of the Michigan-based mega franchise’s menu knows that the pies are nothing without Garlic and Herb dip.

It might be about as traditionally Italian as a Biscoff lasagna, but the sauce is to Domino’s what bacon is to breakfast – indispensable.

Like most of the fast-food industry’s best-kept secrets, the precise recipe for the creamy green-speckled pots is a mystery. However, if we’ve learned anything from the internet, it’s that there is no shortage of people willing to solve a case if something delicious is involved.

Now, thanks to an enterprising TikToker, we may have a formula for recreating the delicious dip at home.

In a clip that has now been viewed over 300,000 times on the popular social media platform, home cook @daddydinners shared his recipe for a homemade version of the essential pizza condiment.

With an incredibly simple formula, featuring just seven ingredients, the cook has created what he claims is a “healthier version” of the original that pairs perfectly with “your favourite pizza”. Sign us up!

Try our delicious Mini Garlic Bread Pizza Cups:

To make the dip, all you need to do is mix ½ cup sour cream, ½ cup mayonnaise, 1tsp oregano, 1tbsp white wine vinegar, ½ tsp garlic puree, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of sugar in a bowl before leaving it in the fridge for a few hours. Simply wait, and before you know it you’ll have an awesome alternative to your favourite pizza dipping sauce!

This isn’t the first time that @daddydinners has attempted to tackle a popular fast food item.

Also included on his TikTok page are recipes for “KFC Popcorn Chicken” (below), “Posh McDonald’s” and “Homemade Wagamama Katsu Curry”, although the Domino’s Garlic and Herb recipe is by far the most popular.

If nothing else, the recipe’s success proves that a pandemic hasn’t diminished our appetite for tangy garlic dips.
