Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

If there’s one thing more exciting than chocolate, it’s chocolate stuffed with another kind of chocolate. Even though hundreds of designers have had a go at stacking layers of sugary nirvana on top of each other, only one has managed to perfect the art.

Master chocolatiers Lindor have a history of causing chocoholics to swoon. From their golden, sunlit, impossibly sexy commercials, to their signature red gooey baubles, no other treat combines sophistication and satisfaction quite like a Lindor. Now, despite already being the leading light in sticky sweet snacking, the Swiss specialists have somehow managed to up their game again.

Based on the blueprint of their wildly successful Lindt range, Lindor has decided to push beyond basic flavours like milk and dark chocolate and introduce a new, slightly savoury member of the family. Available now in several British supermarkets, lucky punters can now get their hands on Salted Caramel Lindor. Heaven is a place on earth, and it’s in the snack aisle of Morrisons.

According to the official description of the product on Amazon, customers can expect to:

“Experience bliss with Lindt Lindor smooth melting salted caramel chocolate truffles. The Lindt Master Chocolatiers combine expertise and the finest ingredients to produce the perfectly round milk chocolate shell with salt crystals filled with an irresistibly smooth melting caramel centre.”

You could never accuse Lindt of short-selling itself.

Understandably, given the inevitably delicious collision between salt, caramel and Lindor, eager shoppers haven’t held back when it comes to expressing their enthusiasm. One commenter under an Instagram post from @newfoodsuk wrote, “Good Lord! I need these bad boys,” while several simply added, “omg.”

At most retailers, a 200g box of the new treats will set you back about £5. According to the product’s listing on Amazon, the Lindor’s will be officially available nationwide on the 8th of May, though some stores seem to have enjoyed early access. Whenever they’re on sale, Salted Caramel Lindors look set to make May much more delicious than it would have been.
