Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

We’ve all experienced the rather disappointing situation in which we’d been craving a McDonald’s breakfast, only to get to our nearest restaurant to find they’ve already switched to the lunch menu.

Well as of 20 November, the fast-food chain will be extending their breakfast menu by half an hour following a trial conducted earlier this year in June, according to The Sun.

The extension was trialled in 122 restaurants and ultimately deemed a success.

McDonald’s franchisee Grant Copper, who owns and operates the restaurants which trialled extended breakfast service in Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, said at the time: “I’m thrilled to be bringing this service to my customers, and look forward to hearing their feedback.”

Currently, in most of their branches, breakfast is served until 10:30 am but due to the popularity of the early morning menu – and due to its limited offering – the McDonald’s breakfast will now be available until 11 am.

Those who want their mid-morning meal will be able to order hash browns, pancakes and bacon rolls instead of chicken nuggets and Big Macs from next week. This also means that the regular lunch menu will start going on sale half an hour later.

This isn’t the first amazing thing McDonald’s has done recently:

The move will be a huge source of convenience for those of us who constantly grapple with the dilemma of choosing to stay in bed or scoff down their delicious Egg McMuffin.

The half-hour extension will start in all branches next week, on 20 November.

But if you would rather get your eggs, sausage and bacon fix while remaining in bed, the extra 30 minutes means that orders can still be made through Uber Eats up until 10:45 am.

McDonald’s has 1,249 restaurants in the UK – you can find the one nearest to you by clicking here.
