McDonald’s to start selling Big Macs with four patties

As Champions League qualifiers, Little Mix fans and convivial golfers will agree, all the best things come in fours. Three might be magical, but there’s something about the satisfying symmetry of a quartet that makes everything more enjoyable. Obviously, this includes food. 

As if we needed any more proof that quadrilogies are fantastic, the biggest name in fast-food has decided to make everyone’s March infinitely more exciting with a foursome of their own. In a dramatic announcement, McDonald’s has today revealed a tweak to their traditional Big Mac formula. For a limited time, the iconic sandwich will be available with not two, but four beef patties. This Spring is going to be stacked. 

In an official announcement on the McDonald’s website, the brand revealed the introduction of both the giant “Double Mac” and miniature “Little Mac”, both available for a limited time only. Though the diddy Little Mac has its charms, there was obviously one, or four, reasons to really get excited.

The company wrote:

“Let’s be honest. When a burger craving strikes, nothing quite hits the spot like the taste of McDonald’s iconic Big Mac.

“We know sometimes that craving is small, and sometimes it’s truly huge, while other times our classic Big Mac is just right. That’s why, starting tomorrow, we’re satisfying Big Mac appetites of all sizes by introducing the Little Mac and Double Big Mac for a limited time.”

In a statement accompanying the update, Linda VanGosen, Vice President of Menu Innovation, revealed:

“The Big Mac is more than a burger — over the past 50 years it has become an international icon and a consistent favorite for our fans. From the perfect ratio of our infamous Special Sauce, to the crunch of our crisp lettuce and the juiciness of our 100% pure beef patties, customers know and love the unmistakable flavor of the Big Mac. We’re excited to give them new ways to enjoy the burger they love and satisfy fan cravings of all sizes with three delicious Big Mac options.”

The sandwiches will be available from the 11th of March at participating restaurants for a limited time only. We’ll see you in the queue.
