Olive Garden is selling breadstick bouquets for Valentine’s Day

Love should never be half-baked. If you’re trying to sweep someone off their feet, you should be totally committed to doing something dramatic. Even if you don’t have the dough for a diamond ring or fancy dinner, there are still ways that you can rise to the occasion. You just have to be prepared to think outside the chocolate box. Kneads must. 

In a bid to prove that bread can be just as romantic as a bunch of flowers, Italian-American specialist Olive Garden has upped the ante for bouquet buyers everywhere. Instead of the tawdry posey from a drab service station, lovers everywhere can wow their partners with a garland of freshly baked breadsticks. Dating has never tasted so delicious. 

From February 13th, Olive Garden customers will be able to get their hands on a breadstick bunch as part of the restaurant’s extended Valentine’s dinner. Presented in bright red wrapping paper, the arrangement is served alongside a selection of starters, mains and desserts for the ultimate romantic experience. Paris – eat your heart out.

Costing $34.99, Olive Garden’s Valentine’s Day Dinner ToGo includes either breadsticks or soup, dipping sauces, a sharing portion of ziti al forno, and a choice of two desserts. The ziti can be upgraded for $6 to chicken alfredo, while the pudding options include the chain’s signature “Black Tie Mousse Cake” or tiramisu. 

The breadstick bouquet itself is also only available as an upgrade, but given the romantic significance of such a gesture, it’s surely worth it. The whole selection can also be supplemented by a chocolate mint box in order to help you send “the perfect Valentine’s Day message”, as per the Olive Garden website. 

As the name suggests, this offer is only available to go, so there will be no wasting time in an agitated queue of bouquet buyers. For anyone who believes that dinner at a restaurant is overrated, this might be the most exciting thing to happen to Valentine’s Day since the eponymous saint started doing his thing in Ancient Rome – with the added bonus of being delicious.
