Your dog can earn £100 a month as a pet food critic

Everyone assumes that their dog is the most discerning, intelligent and articulate, but now you actually have the chance to prove it.

A raw dog food company is currently on the look out for three canine critics to help with their latest range of doggy dinners.

Successful applicants will receive a £100 per month salary, as well as free dog food. For owners looking for a new definition of “working dog”, the offer is a no brainer.

How to become a dog food critic

The new position comes courtesy of the experts at dog food company ProDog Raw. The role involves tasting and reviewing the business’ new ProDog Raw range, which supposedly improves the wellbeing of dogs that suffer from mild health conditions.

As the ProDog application page states:

“Dogs who suffer with regular flatulence, bad hair days, bad breath, large poops and laziness are encouraged to apply, as these are symptoms that raw food can directly improve – so basically the stinkier the better!”

Successful applicants must provide regular feedback on a range of criteria. These include “general behaviour, temperament, energy levels as well as…the quality of its coat and stool consistency.”

ProDog also advises owners to keep a video diary in order to better document their findings. Weekly questionnaires will also be available to keep things ultra scientific.

They certainly aren’t making a dog’s dinner of this recruitment drive.

How does my dog apply?

In order to send off an application, you must visit the ProDog Raw website. Here, you will find an application form, where you’ll need to include your dog’s name and your own name.

Applicants must also add any information about whether their pooch is particularly active on social media. The form includes sections for TikTok, Instagram and Facebook followers.

In a statement about the application process, ProDog founder Heidi Maskelyne said:

“Raw dog food is having a big moment, which is great, but we want to make sure that owners understand and are educated in why raw food is superior to dry, in the long term.

“We think our Canine Critics will help break down the main barrier that is stopping dog owners from making the leap to raw food, and that is the misconception that it is a hassle and not all it’s cracked up to be.

“As humans, we’re obsessed with what we put in our bodies, and we adore our canine companions, so why wouldn’t we be just as obsessed with what they eat?”

Applications close on March 31st. Better hurry if you don’t want to end up in the dog house.
