Reese’s Peanut Butter Lovers cups are back in stores again

Unlike “time on your hands”, there’s no such thing as too much peanut butter. Unless you’re drowning in a Willy Wonka-like nutty river, the satisfying saltiness of a dry roasted jar is basically unbeatable. The fact that it works just as well in breakfast, dinner or dessert speaks for itself. 

As candy fans will know all too well, perhaps the ultimate embodiment of the mouthwatering potential of peanut butter is all-American brand Reese’s. If a sweet can keep ET earthbound, it’s definitely worth getting excited about. It’s no surprise, therefore, that any news about increasing the amount of peanut in a Reese’s product is going to cause a ruckus. 

To the delight of savoury/sweet snack lovers everywhere, the brand’s beloved “Peanut Butter Lovers” cups have made their way back into stores after a limited release last year. The treats, which differ from ordinary cups by adding an extra peanut layer to go with the nutty filling, were a huge hit when they made their debut, and are sure to cause a similar stir now that they’re back on the menu.

According to a post by prominent Instagrammer @snackbetch last week:

“Reese’s Peanut Butter Lovers Cups are back!! Hands down one of the best Reese’s, alongside the crunchy cookie cup. There is only a super thin layer of chocolate at the bottom of the cup and slightly up the sides. The peanut butter tastes creamier & smoother compared to a normal Reese’s cup. Found these at Safeway and Target. If you didn’t get a chance to try these… you need to!!”

If the comments under the photo are anything to go by, excitement levels are just as high if not higher than in 2019. As one excited fan put it, “Sign me up for some of these! I loved them the first time.” Wherever you’re snacking, you can always count on peanuts to improve your mood.
