Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

Even though many of our favourite restaurants have started to tentatively reopen their doors, we could all still use a little extra home comfort. While we’ve missed starting a night out with something delicious, sometimes you just need an evening on the sofa with something bad for you and completely glorious.

Fortunately for everyone’s inner slob, the current crisis has forced many of the world’s biggest food brands to innovate. Now you no longer have to make the trek to a restaurant to tuck into your favourite treats – many of them can be shipped straight to your door.

The latest in the long line of recently domesticated fast-food favourites, East Coast burger giant Shake Shack has decided to embrace the new dawn of home-based dining with open arms. To the relief of anyone who would prefer not to venture out for a burger, the brand has recently revealed a new DIY bacon burger kit – perfect for satisfying your cravings without leaving the kitchen.

Dubbed “SmokeShack Kits”, the new product includes enough ingredients to make between eight and 16 burgers – ideal if you’re planning a slightly bigger cookout to share with friends and family. According to the official description, each sandwich features:

“100% Angus beef from Pat LaFrieda which took years to perfect (it’s hormone and antibiotic-free, too). That’s all topped with Niman Ranch applewood-smoked bacon, chopped cherry peppers, classic melted American cheese, and their top-secret ShackSauce™. Plus, it’s cradled by a toasted, non-GMO Martin’s Potato Roll.”

The kits will set you back either $59 or $109, depending on whether you opt for the eight or 16 pack, and you can also get a bacon-free version for either $49 or $89. Next time you’re planning a burger-based event in the back garden, there really is only one option.
