Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

It’s understandable that as the weeks of domestic incarceration continue to tick by, internet users everywhere are becoming increasingly intrigued by the contents of their liquor cabinet. Obviously, as with anything in life, it’s important to enjoy alcohol in moderation. But it’s also only to be expected that, when people have time on their hands, boozy experiments suddenly become a whole lot more tempting.

Inspired both by the modern spritzer zeitgeist and the current period of protracted boredom, internet users around the world have found common ground in their obsession with White Claw. Last summer, White Claw established itself as THE can of choice, making beer and prosecco look about as fashionable as a potable penny-farthing. Now, as the weather improves and we remain stuck in the garden, the drink is continuing to go from strength to strength.

Determined to make the most of ready access to alcohol seltzers and a completely free calendar, dozens of social media users have inspired the internet by making their own homemade White Claw slushies. As you might expect from such a basic blueprint, the results are eclectic. What’s undeniable, however, is that almost all of them look refreshingly delicious.

Although there is no hard and fast recipe for making your own White Claw slushie, every version seems to rely upon the same key elements. For starters, you will (obviously) need to source your own White Claw, with the classic “Variety Pack” proving most popular among would-be mixologists.

Why not have a go at our Pepsi MAX Cherry Slushie Baubles:

The drink then typically calls for a selection of frozen fruit, matched according to which White Claw you went for initially, and then a liberal sloshing of your favourite spirit. Vodka appears to be the most popular choice, although there are several summery twists featuring rum and tequila also doing the rounds.

As the current situation continues to develop, it looks like cocktail bars are going to be inaccessible for the foreseeable future. Fortunately for anyone who isn’t especially concerned about precision when it comes to their drinks, the White Claw slushie trend promises to provide some inspiration to anyone with a hankering for something refreshing and alcoholic.
